Resources

Recruit Generals

The generals Tavern Recruit can hunt, and the search list that decides which ones it does.

Resources ▸ Recruit Generals is the library of generals worth buying from the tavern's recruit board, each with a picture the bot recognises them by. The search list is the short list you pick from it: only generals on the search list are offered to the Tavern Recruit task. This library is separate from Generals, which holds the generals you already own.

Find it at Resources ▸ Recruit Generals. It is a library, not a task or a duty: every instance shares it, and nothing on this tab runs on a schedule. A change is saved when you confirm it, and every instance's task settings see it the next time they are opened.

The Recruit Generals library: search, the All and Search list switch, Add General, and a card per general with its search-list toggle.

Set it up

  1. Open Resources ▸ Recruit Generals. The library ships with many generals already captured.
  2. Search for each general you want and click Add to search on its card. It turns into On search list.
  3. Click Search list at the top to see exactly what Tavern Recruit will be offered. Click On search list on any you do not want.
  4. Open the Tavern Recruit task and tap the generals to target.

The Recruit Generals screen

Search generals…
Narrows the grid to names containing what you type. The ✕ inside the box clears it.
All / Search list
All shows the whole library; Search list shows only the generals Tavern Recruit will target. Default: All.
Add General
Opens Add recruit general (below).
Result line
128 generals · 12 on search list. In the Search list view it reads 12 on search list; while a search is typed, Showing 3 of 128. Either way Clear filters appears and returns to All with the search cleared.
General card
The general's picture (or no image), the name, a rank badge (Legendary or Epic; hover for Epic — recruit or buy tokens or Legendary — recruit only), and template set or no template. A strip in the rank's colour runs along the bottom.
Add to search / On search list
The toggle at the foot of every card. Click it to put the general on the search list, or take it off. It saves at once, and the grid keeps your scroll position. Your ticks are kept when an update of Evonex brings the shipped generals back to the copy it ships.
Edit general
Hover a card and click the sliders icon. Opens Edit recruit general.
Delete general
Hover a card and click the bin icon; it asks Delete “name”? and deletes the general and its picture.
Empty grid
No recruit targets yet with Add your first general; Nothing on the search list yet with Show all generals; or No generals match with Clear filters.

Add recruit general: capture step

  1. Port
  2. Capture screen / Upload image…
  3. Preview
  4. Status line
  5. Use selection
Capture the general: a picture taken from the game's Portraits view, with the general's art boxed.

A new general opens here, titled Capture the general. Take the picture from the tavern's Portraits window with the general's own portrait open: in the game, open the Tavern, then Recruit, then Portraits, and tap the general.

Do not capture from the recruit board itself. The board draws generals smaller than the Portraits view, and Tavern Recruit matches at exactly that difference, so a template cut from the board will not match. Crop the template from the face and upper chest, which the board never covers.
Port
The emulator to take the picture from. Type its port (for example 5555) or a full address such as 127.0.0.1:5555, or open the list: it offers every running emulator and the address of every saved instance. It remembers the last address that worked. A value that is not a port or address gives Invalid port; an emulator that does not answer gives Capture failed.
Capture screen
Takes a picture of the emulator screen and shows it below.
Upload image…
Uses a PNG, JPG, WEBP or BMP file instead. Could not read that image. if the file will not open.
Preview
The captured picture. Drag on it to draw a box; drag inside the box to move it; drag an edge or corner to resize it. The mouse wheel zooms about the pointer. When zoomed in, right-drag (or Ctrl + drag) pans, and the small arrow pad in the corner nudges the view. Before a capture it reads No screen captured yet.
Status line
Capture a screen to start., then Drag a box around the general., then the box size and position.
Back
Returns to the details step without changing the picture. Shown only when the general already has a picture.
Cancel
Closes the window without saving.
Use selection
Keeps the boxed area as the general's art and moves to the details step. Greyed out until the box is at least 8 px each way.

Recruit general details: name, rank, the search-list switch, the art with its template as a green box, and the template controls.

Titled Recruit general details. Editing a general opens straight here.

General name
The general's name (placeholder e.g. Baibars). Required (Name required).
Rank
Legendary or Epic. Epic generals can be recruited or bought with tokens; legendaries are recruit-only, so Tavern Recruit offers the Tokens method only for epics. Default for a new general: Epic.
Show in Tavern Recruit search
On puts the general on the search list; off keeps it in the library but out of the task's list. The same setting as the card's toggle. Default for a new general: on.
General art
The picture, with the linked template drawn as a green box. The line underneath reads Template area 58×52 @ (40, 24), No template selected yet., or Template not located on this image.
Template
Detector “name” when linked, or No template yet with a reminder to crop the general's distinctive part in the Vision Lab.
Select template in Vision Lab
Opens Recruit template — Vision Lab with the captured screen and the general's art loaded. Crop the face and upper chest, tune, and click Use for this general. See Champions for how the Vision Lab behaves when opened from a library.
Edit detector
Reopens the linked template in the Vision Lab. Greyed out until one is linked.
Unlink
Detaches the template. Shown only while one is linked.
Re-capture image
Back to the capture step, keeping the name, rank and template link.
Cancel
Closes without saving. ✕ and Esc do the same.
Save general
Saves the general. It needs a picture (No image sends you back to capture). If the picture cannot be written, Couldn't save the image says so and the general is saved with its previous picture.

Troubleshooting

Tavern Recruit says “No generals on the search list yet”.
Turn on Add to search on the generals you want here. Use the Search list view to check.
A target showed on the recruit board but was not bought.
Check its card: no template means it cannot be recognised. If it has one, the template may have been cut from the recruit board instead of the Portraits view; capture it again from Portraits. Also check its buy limit in the task.
The Tokens method is missing for a general.
Tokens are for epic generals only. If the general really is epic, set its Rank to Epic.
Details say “Template not located on this image”.
The template was cut from a different picture. Select it again in the Vision Lab from this general's art.
Capture screen says “Capture failed” or “Invalid port”.
Check the emulator is running and the Port matches it. See Emulator setup.
