Task setup
What each task does in the game on this account — one entry per task, each opening its own settings.
The Task setup view is where you say what each task does in the game on this account — which bosses, which tiles, which tiers, how many. Every task with settings is listed; click one to open its form. When a task runs is a different question, answered by its rhythm on Duties.
Where: Instances ▸ open an instance ▸ Task setup. The settings here belong to this instance only; to reuse them on other accounts, save a profile.
Aurora and Prism show the tasks as a grid of cards, and a task’s form opens in place of the grid. Standing Watch shows both at once: the LIBRARY as a ruled ledger on the left — one row per task, with a grip to drag it — and the open task’s form on the right. In a window under about 1100 px wide it goes back to two pages.

Set it up
Click a task's card (or its row in Standing Watch's library). Its form opens.
Fill in the options. The task's own page in this guide explains each one.
Press Save changes at the top right of the form. The button disappears once the settings are saved.
Press All tasks to go back to the list.
If the task is not in your plan yet, add it from Add to plan on Duties — your saved settings are waiting for it there.
The list of tasks
Every task in your library — click one to set up how it behaves on this instance. Drag cards to arrange them.
The line at the top of the view.
Profile chip
Top right: the profile this instance follows and whether it still matches. No profile with a hollow ring when none is bound; the profile's name with In sync and a green lamp when it matches; the name with 2 changes in orange when this instance has settings the profile does not. Click it to open Profiles. The same chip sits in the same corner of Duties.
Task card / row
The task's name, a MAIN or SIDE badge, and a one-line summary of what it does. Click anywhere on it to open its form.
MAIN / SIDE
The task's role as set when it was made in Studio. It is not whether the task is switched on in this instance's plan.
LIBRARY
Standing Watch: the ledger’s head, with how many tasks it lists — 10 TASKS · DRAG TO ARRANGE. The row of the task whose form is open is lit, with a red edge.
Drag
Drag a card (or a row by its grip) to a new place. The order is shared with your task library. The cards of one bundle move as a block; a spot that would split them shows a no-entry pointer and the card goes back.
Pick a task from the library to set up how it behaves on this instance.

Which tasks are listed
A task is listed only when it has settings of its own. The built-in ones:
Tasks you build in Studio, when they have a form. A bundle gives one entry per part that has settings.
Nothing is listed for:
Tasks that run only as duties — Patrol, Gold levy, Labor, Resource tax, Offering, Wheel of Fortune, Resource collecting, Trade Carriage, Troop healing, the alliance activities, the reward claims and the rest of the Duties board. Their settings are in each duty's own window, so there is one place to set them.
Tasks with nothing to fill in.
Tasks switched off in Studio.
Six tasks are both a plan task and a duty: Black Market, Resource Gathering, Troop Training, Trap Building, Cultivate Generals (the General enhancing duty) and Champions (the Greet champions duty). Their entry here sets the plan task. The duty keeps its own copy on the Task settings tab of its window on Duties. The two are separate: changing one does not change the other.

Which task, or which part of a bundle, you are setting up.
Save changes
Hidden while the form matches what is saved; it appears as soon as you change something, and hides again if you change it back. Click it and it shows Saving…, then disappears — gone means saved. If saving fails it turns red with Couldn't save, stays, and Evonex says Couldn't save your settings — please try again. In Standing Watch a SAVED stamp holds its place while the form matches, beside SAVE APPEARS WITH YOUR FIRST EDIT.
Live strip
Standing Watch, above a form whose task has run here: LIVE · 2 S while the instance runs, SO FAR TODAY with what the task produced since the reset, and LAST RUN with its outcome, time and line from the Activity Monitor — click it to open that run. A task that never ran here has no strip.
Pinned top
The form's summary and any controls the task keeps in view. They stay put while the rest scrolls.
Form body
The task's own options. Every task is different; see its page in this guide.
Pinned footer
Some tasks keep notes or a reset control below the scroll area, always visible.
Panels that slide up
Some buttons in a form open a panel from the bottom of the form. Close it with its ✕, by clicking the dimmed area, or with Esc — your edits stay in the form, and Save changes saves them.
Popup pages
Other buttons open a small window with Save and Cancel. Save there keeps the edits in the form; Save changes still has to be pressed to store them.
Call options
A group shown on tasks made in Studio that take inputs when they run.
Do this many times
Shown on a bundle part that repeats: how many times that part runs.
Live readouts
Some forms show live numbers while open — Rally Setter's march clocks, Resource Gathering's marches out, Rally Joiner's speed-ups used, Troop Training's and Trap Building's counts so far. They update every couple of seconds and never touch your unsaved edits.
How it works
A task already in your plan stores its settings on its plan entry. A running instance picks up saved changes at its next step — no restart needed.
A task not in your plan yet stores them for later. The first time you save one, Evonex says: Saved. This task isn't in your plan yet, so it won't run — add it on Duties when you want it to. Your settings will be waiting for it. Adding the task on Duties picks those settings up.
Removing a task from the plan on Duties keeps its Task setup answers; add it back and they apply again.
Saving re-checks the instance straight away, so a fixed gap disappears from the Overview's Needs setup card at once.
A save counts as a change against the bound profile, so the profile chip updates the moment you save.
All tasks and switching to another instance leave the form without asking. Anything not yet saved is lost. If Save changes is showing, press it first.
Examples
Setting up before switching on. On Silverpine, open Troop Training, pick the troop types and counts, press Save changes and read the note that it is not in the plan yet. On Duties, add Troop Training from Add to plan; it arrives with those settings.
Same plan task and daily duty. On Northwatch, set Black Market here to buy a short list of items for the plan task, then open the Black Market row on Duties and set its Task settings tab separately for the daily visit.
Copying a setup to farms. Finish every task on Silverpine, click the profile chip, and use New profile from this instance to save it as Farm account. Bind Ember Keep to it from its own chip.
Troubleshooting
A task I use isn't listed.
It is probably run as a duty — its settings are in its window on Duties. Otherwise it has no settings, or it is switched off in Studio.
I saved the settings, but the task never runs.
It is not in this instance's plan. Add it from Add to plan on Duties, and check that its switch is on.
My changes are gone.
They were not saved before leaving the form, or a newer version of this instance's bound profile replaced them. See Profiles.
The Save changes button vanished after I clicked it.
That means it saved. It only stays on screen when saving fails, with Couldn't save.
The duty and the plan task use different settings.
They are meant to. The entry here sets the plan task; the duty's Task settings tab on Duties sets the duty.
I can't drop a card where I want it.
Parts of one bundle stay together. Drop the card before or after the whole bundle instead.
Standing Watch shows the library and the form side by side, but sometimes only one.
In a window under about 1100 px wide the two go back to two pages: the library alone, then the form alone with All tasks to return.
The profile chip shows changes I didn't make.
Adding or removing a task, or saving any setting, counts as a change against the bound profile. Open Profiles to see the list, then save it to the profile or discard it.
