The Config UI builder

Design the settings form players fill in per instance.

A Configurable task has a settings form: the numbers, switches and pickers a player fills in for it on each instance's Task setup. The Config UI builder is where that form is designed, by placing widgets on a live preview. Every field you give a property name becomes a variable the task's flow can read.

Open it on the Config UI tab of the Task Builder, shown once the task is Configurable. The same builder opens from Design bundle UI and Edit settings form in the Bundle Editor.

Set it up

  1. In the Task Builder, click Configurable, then open the Config UI tab.
  2. Drag Number from Widgets onto the form, or click it.
  3. In Properties, set Label to Spins per run and Bind to property to spins; set Min / Max to 1 / 50 and Default to 10.

  6. Click Save task. Each instance's Task setup now has a card for the task.

The canvas

Nothing is wired yet
A warning banner: ⚠ Nothing is wired yet — this task won't appear in Task setup until at least one field is bound to a variable. Give a field a Property name to fix this. Shown while no field on any page has a property name.
Editing
The page the canvas is editing (tooltip Which page of this form the canvas edits): Main form, or an extra page listed as Popup · name or Sheet · name.
+ (New page)
Opens the New page dialog described below.
Trash (Delete this page)
Shown while an extra page is open. Asks Delete page “name” and all its fields? Buttons pointing at it will report it missing.
Preview form
Opens the page being edited as a player sees it: Form preview for the main form, or Popup preview · name / Sheet preview · name. Close returns.
Summary
One line shown in the task's pinned header on Task setup and on its Studio card (placeholder One line shown in the pinned header and on the task card). It belongs to the whole form, whichever page is open.
Drop areas
An empty form reads Drag widgets & containers here to build the form, an empty container Drag widgets here. Drag a placed item to reorder it, or into a container to nest it.
Item header
The widget type (or a container's heading); marks such as · header, · body, · footer or · scroll; a chip ⟶ property once bound; a grip to drag by; a fold arrow on containers; and ✕ to remove.
Warning outline

Properties

With nothing selected the panel reads Select an item to edit its label, binding and options. Selecting an item shows its type, what it does and any binding warning, then its properties under GENERAL, BEHAVIOR, DATA and LAYOUT. Hover a property name for help. Remove item deletes it.

Properties most fields share

Label
The caption the player sees. Some widgets call it Pill text, Text, Title, Heading or Button text.

Help text
A hint the player sees when hovering the field.
Required
Marks the caption with * and holds the instance back at Start while the field is empty. Default: off.
Visible when
Shows the field only when another field matches: fast_mode = true, or just fast_mode for any on or filled-in value. Join conditions with & when all must hold.

Overlay children (one slot) · Overlay placeholder
Frame: the children share one fixed-height slot and each child's Visible when decides which shows; when none matches, the placeholder does.
Pin above the form · Pin below the form
Frame and Row, top level only: stays in view above or below the scrolling settings.

Top level only: header (fixed at the top), body (the one scrolling area) or footer (fixed at the bottom). Blank: the whole form scrolls together.
Scroll this section
Frame, Group box and Column: scrolls inside itself when taller than its space. Use at most one per form; a body region is usually better.

Pages: popups and sheets

A long form can move settings onto extra pages. A page opens from a Popup button on the form, and its fields save into the same task settings as the main form. The New page dialog:

Page name
Required and unique (placeholder e.g. buff settings). A name already used shows Page exists.
Shown as
Popup, a dialog, or Sheet, which slides up over the bottom of the form. Default: Popup.
Cancel / Create

Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y

Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V
Copy the selected item; paste into the selected container or after the selected field.
Ctrl+D
Duplicate the selected item beside it.
Delete / Backspace
Remove the selected item.

Troubleshooting

The task still has no card on Task setup.
The form needs at least one field with a property name, and the task must be saved as Configurable. The Nothing is wired yet banner shows until then.
Two fields keep overwriting each other.
They share a property name; both are outlined. Give each its own.
My flow does not see a field.
Check the field's Bind to property and use exactly that name in the flow. Fields on extra pages count too.
A Popup button does nothing.
Its Popup page must match an existing page name exactly. Deleting a page leaves buttons pointing at nothing.
A field never appears on Task setup.
Check its Visible when: the field it names must hold the value written there.
Keyboard shortcuts do nothing.
Click an item on the canvas first; the shortcuts work while the builder has the keyboard.
