Resources

Troops

Training cost per unit for every troop tier, and each tier's troop names in every civilization.

Resources ▸ Troops holds two things for every troop tier. The training cost of one unit of each type (Mounted, Ranged, Ground, Siege) in Food, Wood, Stone, Ore and Gold. And what each type is called in each of the game's seven civilizations, because the game names the same troop differently per civilization. Troop Training uses the costs and tiers; Rally Setter slots that pick their own troops use the names.

Find it at Resources ▸ Troops. It is a library, not a task or a duty: every instance shares it, and nothing on this tab runs on a schedule. A change is saved when you confirm it, and every instance's task settings see it the next time they are opened.

  1. Open Resources ▸ Troops. The costs and names ship filled in for the game's tiers.
  2. If a Rally Setter slot marches with troops you chose yourself, click the T icon on each tier it uses and check the column for your civilization has a name for that troop type.
  3. When the game adds a tier, click Add Tier, enter its costs, then fill its names with the T icon.

The Troops screen

Type filter
Tick which troop types the cards show. With all four ticked it reads All Types; with two ticked it names both, for example Mounted, Ranged; with three ticked it shows the count instead, for example 3 selected. The last ticked type cannot be unticked. Default: all.
Sort
Tier (T1 → up) or Tier (high → T1). Default: Tier (T1 → up).
Add Tier
Opens Add troop tier (tooltip Add a new tier (e.g. T18) for all four troop types).
Result line
The tier span and count, for example T1–T17 · 17 tiers. Clear filters appears only while the type filter hides a type.
Hint
Training cost per unit. Click a troop row to edit it, or use a card's Edit to change the whole tier at once.
Tier card
A Tier 12 badge, three icons, a header row of resource names with their icons, and one coloured row per troop type. Costs show with thousands separators; a cost of zero shows as –.
Troop names (T icon)
Opens Troop names · Tier 12 (below). Its tooltip says how much is filled in: … — 21 of 28 filled in or … — none filled in yet.
Edit all of Tier (sliders icon)
Opens Edit Tier 12 with all four types.
Delete Tier (bin icon)
Asks Delete Tier 12 for all troop types? and removes a tier you added. Built-in tiers cannot be deleted: the bin is greyed out with Built-in tier — can't delete.
Troop row
Click a row to open Edit Mounted T12 (or whichever type and tier) for just that row.
Empty grid
No troop tiers yet with Add a tier.

  1. Tier
  2. Cost grid
  3. Add tier / Save
Edit Tier: the tier number and the per-unit cost grid for the four troop types.
Tier
The tier number, T1–T99. It identifies the tier, so it is locked when editing. Default for a new tier: one above the highest tier you have. A tier that already exists gives Tier exists.
Cost grid
Training cost per unit. Leave a resource at 0 if that type doesn't use it. One row per type (Mounted, Ranged, Ground, Siege), one column per resource (Food, Wood, Stone, Ore, Gold), each 0–99,999,999. Default for a new tier: 0.
Add tier / Save
Add tier for a new tier, Save when editing.
Cancel
Cancel, the ✕ in the title bar, or Esc closes the window without saving. If a check fails when you click the main button, a message says what is wrong and the window stays open with everything you entered.

How tasks use it

Keep costs current. The cost Troop Training shows for a plan is only as right as the numbers here.

Examples

Troubleshooting

The readiness check says my Troops library cannot name a troop.
Open that tier's T icon and fill the troop type's name for the civilization you play, exactly as the march screen shows it. Or set the slot back to the march preset's own troops.
A tier is missing from Troop Training.
Troop Training offers only tiers held here. Click Add Tier and enter its costs.
The cost Troop Training shows looks wrong.
Click the troop row for that type and tier and correct its costs; the task shows the new total the next time you open it.
Saving a new tier says “Tier exists”.
That tier is already in the list. Close the window and use the tier card's sliders icon to edit it.
The bin on a tier is greyed out.
It is a built-in tier. It cannot be deleted, but its costs and names can be edited.
A cost or name I corrected went back after updating Evonex.
The built-in costs and troop names follow the release: the first time a new version starts, they are brought to the numbers and names it ships. Tiers you added are kept.
