Resources

Monsters

The boss catalogue your rally tasks and Coordex boards hunt from.

Resources ▸ Monsters is the shared catalogue of boss monsters: each boss's name, category, how its levels work, and every level with its power. Evonex ships it filled in — the event boss Nasu among them — and keeps it current through the Monster Repo. The boss pickers in Rally Joiner and Rally Setter, the bosses a Coordex board can track all come from here.

Find it at Resources ▸ Monsters. It is a library, not a task or a duty: every instance shares it, and nothing on this tab runs on a schedule. A change is saved when you confirm it, and every instance's task settings see it the next time they are opened.

The Monsters screen

Search monsters…
Narrows the grid to names containing what you type. The ✕ inside the box clears it.
Category filter
Tick the categories to show. With every category ticked the box reads All Categories; with two ticked it names both; with three or more ticked, but not all, it shows the count instead, for example 3 selected. The last ticked category cannot be unticked. Default: all.
Sort
Name (A–Z), Recently added (newest first), Category or Logic. Default: Name (A–Z).
Repo
Opens the Monster Repo (below). Repo, Import and Export share one control at the top right. Each shows only its icon until you hover it, then its label slides out.
Import
Loads a monster pack (.zip) from a file. See Export and Import below.
Export
Turns on select mode: a tick box appears on every card and a bar reads Tick the monsters to include, then export them as a pack. with Cancel and Export selected. Export stays lit while select mode is on; click it again, or Cancel, to leave.
Add Monster
Opens Add monster (below).
Result line
60 monsters, or Showing 4 of 60 monsters while the search or category filter narrows the grid. Clear filters appears then, and resets both.
Monster card
The preview art, the name, and a line with the level count, plus summoned when every level is summoned, 2 summoned when some are, and scan off when Map scan is off. The coloured strip along the bottom marks the logic; hover the card to see its category and logic.
Edit monster
Hover a card and click the sliders icon. Opens Edit monster.
Delete monster
Hover a card and click the bin icon; it asks Delete “name”? Built-in monsters cannot be deleted: their bin is greyed out with the tooltip Built-in monster — cannot delete. They can still be edited, until the next update of Evonex (see the note under Monster Repo).
Empty grid
No monsters yet with Add your first monster, or No monsters match with Clear filters.

Add monster and Edit monster

  1. Logic
  2. Map scan
  3. Map-scan setup icon
  4. Add level
  5. Spawn
  6. Remove level
  7. Add / Save
Edit monster: preview name, category and logic, the preview image, the Map scan row, and the level rows.
Preview name
The boss's name as the pickers show it (placeholder e.g. Golem). Required.
Category
The catalogue group it belongs to, such as Terminator or Event Monster. Task pickers group bosses by category. Default for a new monster: the first category in the list.
Logic
How the boss's levels work; hover an entry in the list for its one-line description. Single-Level Boss: a unique name, power and level. Multi-Level Boss: the same name with a different power per level. Variant-Level Boss: a different name and power per level. Custom-Level Boss: the same name across many variants and levels. The logic decides how pickers let you choose levels: a single-level boss is a plain on/off, multi- and variant-level bosses get a list of levels, and a custom-level boss opens a window of level bands. Switching to Single-Level Boss while several levels are listed asks whether to remove the extra levels; Cancel keeps the previous logic.
Preview image
The thumbnail, and Choose image… to pick a PNG, JPG, WEBP or BMP file for the card. It is card art only; nothing is recognised by it.
Map scan
A switch reading Map scan enabled or Map scan off, a sliders icon (tooltip Configure map-scan recognition) that opens Map-scan setup, and a status line: Detector “name” linked (with the click offset when one is set), or No recognition template yet — open setup (the slider icon) to add one. The icon and status are greyed while the switch is off. The template is a picture of the boss as it stands on the world map. Default for a new monster: enabled.
Add level
Adds an empty level row. On a Single-Level Boss that already has its level it says A Single-Level Boss has exactly one level. Switch its logic to add more.
Level
The level number, whole numbers only (placeholder Lv.). Each number may appear once.
Name
The level's name as the game shows it (placeholder Monster name).
Power
The power as the game writes it (placeholder e.g. 36.5K). Pickers list bosses weakest first.
Spawn
Spawned: the world map spawns it. Summoned: a player summons it instead (hover the box for Summoned = player-summoned, never on the map.). Default: Spawned.
Remove level
The bin at the end of a row removes that row.
Add / Save
Add on a new monster, Save when editing. Rows left completely blank are ignored. It refuses a level that is not a number, a level with no name, a number listed twice, or a monster with no levels.
Cancel
Cancel, the ✕ in the title bar, or Esc closes the window without saving. If a check fails when you click the main button, a message says what is wrong and the window stays open with everything you entered. Changes made in Map-scan setup are discarded with it.

Map-scan setup: the linked recognition template, the click offset, and Verify click.
Recognition template
A thumbnail of the linked template (or no template) and Detector “name” with Match tuning is stored in this detector., or No detector linked yet.
Burst capture
Opens Burst capture — map-scan template (below): the quickest way to build a template that ignores the monster's moving parts, such as flames and glints.
Set in Vision Lab
Opens Map-scan template — Vision Lab to crop and tune a template by hand, then Use for this monster to link it.
Edit detector
Reopens the linked template in the Vision Lab to tune it again. Greyed out until one is linked.
Click offset — X and Y
Where to tap, in pixels from the centre of the match on the 540 × 960 screen: +X moves right, +Y moves down, each from −100 to 100. Use it to move the tap from the recognised sprite onto the monster's tile. Default: 0 and 0 (tap dead centre).
Port
The emulator Verify click uses: a port such as 5555 or a full address. The list offers running emulators, and it remembers the last address that worked.
Verify click
Takes a picture of the emulator screen, looks for the template, and if it finds it really taps the offset point. The line underneath turns green with Match at (x, y) · 91% confidence — tapped (x, y). or red with No match found on the current screen. Other outcomes: Link a detector first, Invalid port, Can't reach emulator, Detector error, Tap failed.
Done
Keeps the setup for the monster. It is saved when you click Save (or Add) in the monster window.
Cancel
Closes and drops what you changed here. ✕ and Esc do the same.

Burst capture: the captured frame on the left with the monster boxed, the three steps and the result card on the right.
Port
The emulator to capture from. Starts on the Port chosen in Map-scan setup.
Frames
How many pictures to take across the monster's animation, 6–24. More gives a truer threshold but takes longer; 12–16 suits most monsters. Default: 12.
Capture burst
Takes the pictures. The status line counts them (Capturing frame 5 of 12…) and the button then reads Recapture burst. A recapture of the same size keeps your box.
Preview
The first captured frame. Click the monster once and it is framed for you; drag an edge to fine-tune, or click again to re-fit. If no outline is found, a starter box is placed for you to drag into shape. The wheel zooms and right-drag pans; −, + and Fit above it zoom out, zoom in and fit, with the zoom percentage beside them.
Box
Under step 2: the box size, for example Box: 96 × 88 px.
Build template
Measures a template from the box across every frame. It needs a box at least 24 px each way. The result card shows the template, a line such as Self-match 88%–97% across 12 frames · threshold 84%, and a verdict: ✓ Solid when no other saved monster template or map scenery comes close, or ⚠ Weak, naming what it could be mistaken for (re-frame and build again; you can still save it). A note may add that heavy animation set the threshold low on purpose, or that frames were averaged for a steadier match. Moving the box or capturing again dims the card until you build again.
Save as
The name the template is saved under (placeholder detector name). Default: the monster's name followed by scan.
Save template
Saves the template and links it to the monster. Greyed out until a template is built. If the name is taken it asks Overwrite detector? first.
Cancel
Closes without linking anything. ✕ and Esc do the same.

The Monster Repo: the catalogue summary, Refresh and Update all, and one row per published boss.
Summary line
60 in the catalogue — 2 new, 3 updates available, or — all up to date. It reads Loading the catalogue… while it fetches.
Refresh
Fetches the catalogue again.
Update all
Shown only while something is waiting, with the count, for example Update all (5). Adds every new boss and updates every older one in one go.
Boss row
The name, then category · level count · version (v2 → v3 when an update is waiting), and the first line of its release note. The button reads Add for a boss you do not have or Update for an older copy; a current boss shows ✓ Up to date instead.
Done and Cancel
Both close the window. The grid refreshes if anything changed.
Problems
Couldn't reach the monster repo with Try again when the catalogue cannot be fetched; Nothing published yet for an empty catalogue; Some didn't apply lists any boss that failed.
Update replaces the whole boss (levels, art and map-scan setup) with the published version. Anything you changed on that boss is lost.
Built-in monsters belong to the release. The first time a new version of Evonex starts, every built-in boss is brought back to the copy that version ships — its levels, art and map-scan setup — unless the Monster Repo already gave you a newer one. Your Map scan switch is kept, and monsters you added yourself are never touched.

Export and Import

Export ▸ tick the cards ▸ Export selected writes those monsters into one .zip pack (suggested name monster_pack.zip): art, levels, spawn types and the map-scan template with its tuning. Nothing ticked gives Nothing selected; a finished export says Exported 3 monster(s) to and the file's location. Import reads a pack: a boss that matches one you already have is updated in place with its levels replaced, anything else is added, and a category or logic you do not have is created by name. It reports Added 2 and updated 1 monster(s). A file that is not a monster pack gives Import failed.

How tasks use it

Keep the level names and numbers of a built-in boss as the game shows them. Coordex ties a level to the map through its name and number, so a renamed or renumbered level drops out of the Track list and its board stops finding it.

Examples

Troubleshooting

A boss is missing from the Rally Joiner or Rally Setter picker.
Open Repo and add or update it, or add it yourself with Add Monster. Check the boss has at least one level.
A boss level is missing from a Coordex board's Track list.
The Track list shows only levels tied to the map by their name and number. Add or update the boss from the Repo; if you edited it, put its level names and numbers back as the game shows them. Then restart Evonex, which ties levels to the map again when it starts.
Verify click says “No match found on the current screen”.
Put the boss on screen on the world map first, fully zoomed out. If it still misses, build the template again with Burst capture, framing the whole sprite.
Verify click tapped next to the monster.
Adjust Click offset: +X moves the tap right, +Y moves it down. Click Verify click again to check.
The bin on a monster is greyed out.
It is a built-in monster. Built-ins cannot be deleted, but you can edit them or turn Map scan off.
The Repo says “Couldn't reach the monster repo”.
The catalogue could not be fetched. Check the PC's internet connection and click Try again.
Choosing Single-Level Boss asks to delete levels.
A single-level boss keeps exactly one level. Confirm to drop the extra rows, or click Cancel to keep the previous logic and every level.
Import failed.
The file must be a .zip made by Export on this tab. Black Market packs and other zip files are refused.
